Vaccines Against COVID/Delta and What They're Made Of; Not To Fear Them

 Nadene Goldfoot

An illustration of the coronavirus released by the CDC shows the spikes on its surface for which it’s named.
“Corona” is the Latin word for “crown.” (Alissa Eckert, Dan Higgins/CDC)

Vaccine ingredients vary by manufacturer. None of the vaccines contain eggs, gelatin, latex, or preservatives. All COVID-19 vaccines are free from metals such as iron, nickel, cobalt, lithium, and rare earth alloys. They are also free from manufactured products such as microelectronics, electrodes, carbon nanotubes, or nanowire semiconductors.

The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is made of the following ingredients:

  • mRNA – Also known as messenger ribonucleic acid, mRNA is the only active ingredient in the vaccine. The mRNA molecules contain the genetic material that provide instructions for our body on how to make a viral protein that triggers an immune response within our bodies. The immune response is what causes our bodies to make the antibodies needed to protect us from getting infected if exposed to the coronavirus.

There are rumors that mRNA vaccines will alter our DNA because the RNA molecule can convert information stored in DNA into proteins. That’s simply, not true. It’s critical to note that the mRNA vaccines never enter the nucleus of the cell, where our DNA is stored. After injection, the mRNA from the vaccine is released into the cytoplasm of the cells. Once the viral protein is made and on the surface of the cell, mRNA is broken down and the body permanently gets rid of it, therefore making it impossible to change our DNA.

  • Lipids – The following lipids are in the new COVID vaccine. Their main role is to protect the mRNA and provide somewhat of a “greasy” exterior that helps the mRNA slide inside the cells.
    • ((4-hydroxybutyl)azanediyl)bis(hexane-6,1-diyl)bis
    • (2-hexyldecanoate), 2 [(polyethylene glycol)-2000]-N,N-ditetradecylacetamide
    • 1,2-Distearoyl-snglycero-3- phosphocholine
    • cholesterol
  • Salts – The following salts are included in the Pfizer vaccine and help balance the acidity in your body.
    • potassium chloride
    • monobasic potassium phosphate
    • sodium chloride
    • dibasic sodium phosphate dihydrate
  • Sugar – Basic table sugar, also known as sucrose, can also be found in the new COVID vaccine. This ingredient helps the molecules maintain their shape during freezing.

Cases of myocarditis and pericarditis in adolescents and young adults have been reported more often after getting the second dose than after the first dose of one of the two mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna. These reports are rare and the known and potential benefits of COVID-19 vaccination outweigh the known and potential risks, including the possible risk of myocarditis or pericarditis.

As of this posting, 385 million people  in USA have received a vaccination against COVID.

Fully vaccinated in USA are 181 million.  This means that the USA is only 55.2% fully vaccinated right now.  Many of these are children that are not vaccinated.

Senior people who have major problems with their systems such as Diabetes must take more precautions by not attending such places as football games at stadiums.  These are the ones who have died even after taking the vaccine.  Their time limit has been damaged by their physical situation and have needed a 3rd booster sooner than the others.  There has been a death under this situation; very sad to say.

The other half of our country need to re-examine their reasoning for not getting the vaccine.  They are putting in danger half of the country by possibly be walking COVID 19 Mary.  Remember Typhoid Mary?

Mary Mallon (September 23, 1869 – November 11, 1938), also known as Typhoid Mary, was an Irish-born cook believed to have infected 53 people with typhoid fever, three of whom died, and the first person in the United States identified as an asymptomatic carrier of the disease pathogen, Salmonella typhi. Because she persisted in working as a cook, by which she exposed others to the disease, she was twice forcibly quarantined by authorities, eventually for the final two decades of her life. Mallon died after a total of nearly 30 years in isolation.  Born in N. Ireland,  presumably, she was born with typhoid because her mother was infected during pregnancy. This is a bacteria disease, not a virus.  At the age of 15, she emigrated to the United States.  She lived in New York.

So if one person can infect 53 people, that means that this is also possible with COVID 19.  COVID is also very deadly.  674,000 people have died in the USA from COVID 19 so far out of the 42 million that came down with it.

Those who have had it may also have long-lasting results from this virus that have damaged  the organs in the body.  This is now called LONG COVID.  From Dr Janet Diaz, Cardiac Quality Specialist at Q-Centrix and currently as a Stroke Registrar Medical Analysis at Lancaster General Hospital, now politician, who said:

So, some of the most common symptoms of post COVID-19 condition or as you said, long COVID, include shortness of breath, cognitive dysfunction, which people call brain fog, as well as fatigue. Those are the three most common. However, there has been more than 200 symptoms that actually have been reported in patients. So that list is quite long. So other symptoms that patients or people may experience include things such as chest pain, such as trouble speaking, some have described anxiety or depression, muscle aches, fever, loss of smell, loss of taste. So the list is quite long, but those top three are the ones that have been described.

Forbes found out that 1/3 of people with COVID 19 suffered from long COVID 19.  Insider discovered that new research said that it could be an autoimmune disease.  Fox News found that more kids are suffering from long Covid 19 and Baltimore, MD has one of the treatment clinics for it.

If you suspect that someone has COVID 19, look for emergency warning signs for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:
Trouble breathing
Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
New confusion
Inability to wake or stay awake
Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone
Call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.

Incidentally, The danger from typhoid fever or paratyphoid fever doesn't end when symptoms disappear. Even if your symptoms seem to go away, you may still be carrying Salmonella Typhi or Salmonella Paratyphi. If so, the illness could return, or you could pass the bacteria to other people. A bacterial disease spread through contaminated food and water or close contact. Vaccines are recommended in areas where typhoid fever is common.  Symptoms include high fever, headache, belly pain, and either constipation or diarrhea.  Treatment includes antibiotics and fluids. 20,000 cases happen every year in the USA.

Perhaps the most important distinction between bacteria and viruses is that antibiotic drugs usually kill bacteria, but they aren't effective against viruses.  Viruses are even smaller than bacteria and require living hosts — such as people, plants or animals — to multiply. Otherwise, they can't survive. When a virus enters your body, it invades some of your cells and takes over the cell machinery, redirecting it to produce the virus.

Diseases caused by viruses include:

  • Chickenpox
  • AIDS
  • Common colds

In some cases, it may be difficult to determine whether a bacterium or a virus is causing your symptoms. Many ailments — such as pneumonia, meningitis and diarrhea — can be caused by either bacteria or viruses.

Update: 9/24/21 9:00am Here I am, 87 years old, and I'm eligible for my booster which was just announced on ABC to be available in pharmacies today.  I had just come out online Wednesday evening that I was eligible, as my age compromises my immune system.  Yesterday I tried 2 pharmacies and their information had not caught up with the facts.  I tried today by calling my pharmacy first and they are not set up, either.  What the government pronounces and what the reality is, are two different things.  It's very frustrating.  I have no way of knowing when this can take place.  There's no communication so far between pharmacies and customers like me due to their phone automated- outdated phone systems.  I'm not afraid of the booster; but getting it is now a pain in the neck.

PS : later10:30 am :  At about 10:30am, I drove back to the pharmacy I visited first two days ago with an appointment and was refused, and this time I received my booster Pfizer vaccine.  I am now celebrating.  3rd time trying and  I finally got it!! My son came over and phoned the pharmacy-the automated pharmacy, and he pushed the right buttons that I had pushed, but gave different responses to questions asked and found it was safe to return and get the vaccine today.  Otherwise I would have given up trying-at least for now.  But, I DID IT!!
