GUILTY; Democrats and Republicans Dealing in Unethical Practices With Each Other

Our country is in bad shape politically.  Both the Democrats and the Republicans are guilty in much of what they have done to maintain their choice of President for 2 voting periods of the 4 years each period.  They have both stooped to indecent levels using money and power.

                                         

What hit me first was Hillary and her indifference to the rules of using a cell phone.  The developments that happened with James Comey, FBI Director,  as the lead investigator showed an arrogance in her behavior when she stowed away thousands of emails illegally on her own cell phone.  If she couldn't follow rules, how did she expect others to do so? 

                                             

She befriended Arafat. That gave him more power.   

She collected friends such as Arafat and  Huma Abedin, who were not favorable towards Israel. Huma was her right hand lady secretary.  Abedin grew up in Saudi Arabia before returning to the United States to attend George Washington University. She aspired to be a journalist and served as an assistant editor of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs from 1998 to 2008. She was still involved in it.   The Democrats went through a lot of other activities against Trump, but somehow, with better attention to rules of each state, he managed to chalk up the important votes to become President.  “I don’t think her remarks have credibility,” Lazio said during a campaign swing today which included a stop at a Long Island synagogue. “The real issue here is that she has said in the past that she is not for placing the embassy in Jerusalem.”

All politicians these days seem to make promises to those they speak to, no matter what it is.  Then, of course, they do nothing when they're in office.  What have they said before in their past?  Does anyone know their past feelings about an issue?  

      Breaking in and Taking over :  Federal prosecutors have charged more than 600 people in more than 40 states with participating in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, and arrests continue almost daily.

He turned out to be not only worse than Hillary in this department of staying in power, but much much worse with egging on an attack  in January on the very buildings where our government's business is attended to.  He acted like his  mind and fingers were taken over by alien power as he texted to people, urging the attack as if he were a foreign power.                                           

 January's  attack on the US Capitol is already one of the most unforgettable events in American history. The Capitol building was last breached when British forces invaded during the War of 1812. 209 years later, a mob of insurrectionists attacked the building at the behest of none other than the sitting, but on-the-way-out, US president Donald Trump.

I don't think the people of the USA will ever get over it.  Neither party trusts the other.  Families are divided.  It's like the 1860s Civil War days.

The decision to abstain from voting broke with decades of US policy that shunned UN resolutions which condemned the settlements.  The Oslo II Accord divided the Israeli-occupied West Bank into three administrative divisions: Areas A, B and C (C being for Israelis) ... Area A comprises approximately 18% of the total territory of the West Bank and Area B about 22% of the territory, together home to some 2.8 million Palestinians.  As of 2015, Area C is home to 150,000 Palestinians in 532 residential areas. It is also home to 389,250 Israelis, in 135 settlements, as well as 100 outposts unrecognized by the Israeli government. Area C forms a contiguous territory, administered via the Judea and Samaria Area administration. 

My problem with Obama was that he expected and wanted Israel to return to the 1967 lines, and that was impossible for security reasons.  By expecting that, he showed me that he knew absolutely nothing about the situation.  

I had voted for Trump, but because he favored Israel.  He fulfilled my hopes for this tiny country whereas Obama had been antagonizing and did not do things promised. He had treated Netanyahu terribly when he was at the White House.  I'll never forget that time, which was on TV.  

 The choices were down to Trump and Hillary, and her bout as Secretary of State and then the cell phone issue made her look pretty bad.  Just because she was a woman, to me was no reason to choose one's president over a man.  If she were a woman of great intellect like Golda Meir, that would be a different thing, but a woman has got to be absolutely outstanding to have the guts  and craziness to be a president of a country as large as the USA.  They've got to be able to analyze and understand  different men in Russia and China and Iran  and their motives.

Cuteness is not a necessary qualification.  Brains are only half of it.  One needs to have leadership qualifications, a glow about them that will stun our enemy into submission, taken in so much from the arguments our President can deliver.  Netanyahu was the greatest deliverer of speech I've ever heard from a  politician;  someone like that for the USA. 

Now we face the issue of whether or not our electoral methods will spew out the truth of how we all voted.  Will the Russians mess with it?  Technically, we've reached a point of reaching for the moon-of being just about able to do anything, but create a flawless voting system.

Dr. Fauci's Name Being Besmirched

  Dr. Fauci, b:December 24, 1940, now 81 years old, has been an immunologist for the past 47 years.  

Due to Trump's opposition to CDC mask wearing guidelines and social distancing measures, which Fauci is a proponent of, Fauci has been criticized by right-wing pundits and received death threats that necessitated a security detail. In an interview with 60 Minutes he mentioned that other members of his family, including his wife and daughters, have been repeatedly harassed since the pandemic began.

When scientists say that masks are necessary, there's a scientific reason for it.  It's to save lives. The air that we breathe is full of virus killers.  We've had 701,000 deaths from COVID 19 so far.   

Anthony Stephen Fauci OMRI is an American physician-scientist and immunologist serving as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the Chief Medical Advisor to the President.  

America's top infectious disease official Dr. Anthony Fauci received a prestigious $1 million Israeli prize Monday, along with six other researchers who shared two additional $1 million prizes for their contributions to health and medicine.  The Dan David Prize, affiliated with Tel Aviv University, said it honored Fauci for his career in public health and "speaking truth to power" during the politicized COVID-19 crisis.

After completing his medical residency in 1968, Fauci joined the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a clinical associate in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases's (NIAID) Laboratory of Clinical Investigation (LCI).

 He became head of the LCI's Clinical Physiology Section in 1974, and in 1980 was appointed chief of the NIAID's Laboratory of Immunoregulation. In 1984, he became director of the NIAID, a position he still holds.  Fauci has been offered the position of director of the NIH several times, but has declined each time.

Fauci has been at the forefront of U.S. efforts to contend with viral diseases like HIV/AIDS, SARS, the Swine flu, MERS, Ebola, and COVID-19. He played a significant role in the early 2000s in creating the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and in driving development of biodefense drugs and vaccines following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.  He's been working on this for 47 years.  

Fauci has been a visiting professor at many medical centers and has received numerous honorary doctorates from universities in the U.S. and abroad.

In 2003, the Institute for Scientific Information stated that from 1983 to 2002, "Fauci was the 13th most-cited scientist among the 2.5 to 3.0 million authors in all disciplines throughout the world who published articles in scientific journals." As a government scientist under seven presidents, Fauci has been described as "a consistent spokesperson for science, a person who more than any other figure has brokered a generational peace" between the two worlds of science and politics.

Leading AIDS activist Larry Kramer attacked Fauci relentlessly in the media. He called him an "incompetent idiot" and a "pill-pushing" tool of the medical establishment. Laurence David Kramer (June 25, 1935 – May 27, 2020) was an American playwright, author, film producer, public health advocate, and LGBT rights activist. He was not a scientist nor an immunologist like Dr. Fauci.  His hatred was purely emotional over his disease of AIDS.

Fauci did not have control over drug approval though many people felt he was not doing enough. It takes time to allow a drug to be developed and come on the market.  

 Fauci did make an effort in the late 1980s to reach out to the LGBTQ+ community in New York and San Francisco to find ways he and the NIAID could find a solution. Though Fauci was initially admonished for his treatment of the AIDS epidemic, his work in the community was eventually acknowledged. Kramer, who had spent years hating Fauci for his treatment of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, eventually called him "the only true and great hero" among government officials during the AIDS crisis.

Trump attacked Dr. Anthony Fauci.  He said that 'people are tired of hearing him and all these idiots' on coronavirus.  He said this last year on October 19th in Arizona.  On the third day of a western campaign swing, Trump was facing intense pressure to turn around his campaign, hoping for the type of last-minute surge that gave him a come-from-behind victory four years ago. But his inconsistent message, another rise in virus cases and his attacks on experts like Fauci could undermine his final efforts to appeal to voters outside his most loyal base.  People are still bad-mouthing Fauci just because Trump did so, not backing it up with any reason.  

Fauci and Texas tangled.  Fauci and other top medical leaders have flagged Texas as a COVID-19 hot spot, but Patrick said the infectious disease doctor has “been wrong every time on every issue.”Despite Texas’ surge of new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, The Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Tuesday evening that he doesn’t need the advice of the nation’s top infectious disease doctor, Anthony Fauci.  Patrick is an American radio talk show host, television broadcaster, and politician. He has served as the 42nd lieutenant governor of Texas since January 2015, under Greg Abbott.  He's no doctor.  

This is not the first time that Americans wore masks in a medical emergency.  In North America, before the 1918 influenza epidemic, surgeons wore masks, as did nurses and doctors who were treating contagious patients in a hospital setting. But during the flu epidemic, cities around the world passed mandatory masking orders. Historian Nancy Tomes argues that mask-wearing was embraced by the American public as “an emblem of public spiritedness and discipline.”

Women accustomed to knitting socks and rolling bandages for soldiers quickly took to mask-making as a patriotic duty. That said, the enthusiasm for mask-wearing waned quickly, as Alfred W. Crosby showed in America’s Forgotten Pandemic: The Influenza of 1918.  

Covid is far more contagious than the flu of 1918 was.  Now, the Delta strain, which we are fighting against now, is even more contagious than Covid 19.   Then, in 1918, they had no medicines to help.  

The one thing that I was thankful to Trump for was in backing Israel and placing the USA embassy in Jerusalem.  They say G-d works in mysterious ways, and he did with Trump.  No other president has had the gumption of backing Israel since Truman, and Trump, with his family including an orthodox Jew who had married his daughter, turned out to be Israel's friend.  Truman was impressed with his partner, who was Jewish.  All those around him in Washington were against the creation of Israel; at least gave him opposing advice.  Now Trump is besmirching his own name by not going along with proven science during the worst pandemic we have ever faced.  His followers here in the States are following his lead blindly, as I see it.  

Fauci has taken on the hardest public job of all, the health of our nation.  His education is that of a doctor, so he knows his science.  According to Fauci, building and maintaining trust all comes down to one crucial thing: “What you do, what you say … and the policy recommendations you make have to be based on evidence and data.” He added that leaders should never allow themselves to be pressured or influenced into taking any position that’s based on anything other than scientific data and scientific evidence. When it comes to educating the public, it’s also important to be able to explain the science and data supporting your decisions in a way that is accessible and easy to understand. This is particularly important with complex and ever-changing situations where the evidence and data evolves rapidly—if leaders are transparent about the information they are using to inform decision-making, the public may have fewer concerns about those leaders “flip-flopping,” and have more trust in the decision-making process. Fauci added, “Stick with the truth, not what people want to hear.”  Who knows the truth?   Not radio or TV newscasters who present their political views.  Scientists in Public Health do.  

                                                                   

On Resilience and Self-Care: Although Fauci admitted to not having had a day off in the last year, he still recognizes the importance and value of taking care of himself. In fact, Fauci makes time every single day for a three- to four-mile run to maintain his own physical and mental well-being. (He was born in 1940.)  At the time of this publication, he is  81 years old!  He also fully recognizes that challenges such as fatigue and burnout are more acute for care provides, saying, “We’ve got to somehow design our systems to allow for some relief for frontline healthcare workers.” According to him, our systems need a degree of flexibility and surge capacity, and that may mean bringing back retired clinicians or pulling healthcare professionals from other areas of the healthcare system. Ultimately, when healthcare leaders are in planning sessions and considering on-call schedules, the most important thing to keep in mind is that a pandemic is like a marathon, not a sprint—and we have to think about solutions with longevity and sustainability, not quick fixes.
